Ponies are meant to be bright and colorful. Black is the absence of all color, but since this thread is all about bat ponies there's generally going to be a dull tone to the palette.
That being said, I'm not really sure what you're going for because the image is monochrome. But if you really, really, really want to keep the black hair for whatever dumb reason, then it can't be black. You need to choose a color for the hair and then lower it's value and fool with it's saturation. (basically so it's really dark) is complimented by the coat, wings, and cutiemark.
Take this thread's OC, for instance. It reuses the colors a little bit, but they're still pretty "dull." I forgot where I was going with this exactly.
TL;DR LEARN THE COLOR WHEEL, DULL COLORS, TAKE THE PONY'S QT MARK AND WINGS INTO CONSIDERATION, DON'T MAKE IT BLACK MAKE IT DARK, I'D RECOMMEND USING A WARM COLOR FOR THE EYES, ART BUZZWORDS ETC ETC ETC
